FLD39 was preparing for an investor event and needed their website to match the caliber of the company they had built. However, the timeline was tight, leaving little room for open-ended exploration. Because of this, every decision had to count.
Building the Website
When we reviewed the existing website, the problem was immediate. The site looked outdated and felt cheap. As a result, it failed to communicate the sophistication of the technology and team behind it. Moreover, for a company about to stand in front of investors, first impressions were everything.
Given the constraints, we moved decisively. First, we focused on the visual foundation. Specifically, we developed a cohesive color and typography system in alignment with the existing logo. In doing so, we established a consistent visual language before we touched any layouts. From there, we designed 12 page layouts and reviewed them collaboratively with the Field39 team. Notably, their feedback pointed in a clear direction: lean into sci-fi. Where time allowed, we then created custom animated vector illustrations and iconography for their products and services. Together, these elements gave Field39 a visual identity that no off-the-shelf template could replicate.
Once the client approved the designs, we moved into frontend development using our Helix framework. In total, we built 14 UI pages in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. After testing, we handed everything off to Field39’s internal development team for CMS integration.
The New Website Impact
Overall, the result is a website that stands apart — professional, distinctive, and unmistakably Field39. While the previous site blended into the noise, the new one carries its own identity. Specifically, it features a considered aesthetic that nods to cyberpunk and sci-fi. As a result, Field39 now stands apart from the sea of look-alike tech company websites.
A great website doesn’t just look good — it loads fast, ranks well, and stays out of your way. When all of that comes together, you stop worrying about your tech and start focusing on what actually grows your business. This project demonstrates that even a heavily compromised site can be turned into a performing platform with the right strategy and execution.
