View Project
Orvas is a Croatia-based luxury charter company founded in 1999, offering a diverse fleet of sailing boats, motorboats, and catamarans for exploring the Adriatic and Mediterranean. Part of the Orbico Group, the company has grown beyond yacht charters to encompass a hotel on Hvar Island, private villas, and a boutique line of Croatian wine and olive oil — all centered around one idea: a truly personal, high-end holiday.
Brand Problems
- No clear separation between services
- Unused domain for crewed charters
- Desire for something different and unique
Our Solutions
- New site design for crewed yacht charters
- Slick and non-obtrusive design
- Luxury, unique, and simple website experience
As Orvas expanded, their brand needed to reflect a clearer structure. The solution was to split their services into two distinct experiences — bareboat and crewed charters — each with its own dedicated website. The existing site would serve bareboat clients, while the new one would focus entirely on crewed charter for luxury holidays. The new website needed to communicate trust, simplicity, and uniqueness — with a target audience of 60+.
Our Approach
Having previously worked on the redesign of Orvas’s main website, we were brought back to solve the new one. We joined a cross-functional team alongside SEO specialists, marketing experts, and company management. After a thorough brief — with a clear directive to prioritize crewed charter and luxury experience — we returned with three distinct design concepts, each built around the Orvas Crewed Yachts visual identity: a sans-serif logotype in dark navy and gold.
This time we had more creative freedom, and we used it. The SEO team envisioned two separate sections for destinations — regions and individual locations. Rather than treat them as separate pages, we proposed a single section that handled both elegantly. The Orvas team hadn’t seen anything like it and were initially hesitant. We asked them to sit with it for a few days before making a final call. After internal review and testing across multiple environments, they came around — the solution created distinctive visual shapes that set the site apart, and what looked striking at first glance turned out to be highly intuitive in practice.
With the design approved, we moved into production — building 27 fully crafted static pages in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Each page was reviewed and signed off by the Orvas Crewed Yachts team before the complete package was handed to their IT agency for integration into a custom CMS.
The Result
A cohesive luxury digital presence that does justice to the brand. Clean code, intuitive navigation, and a refined visual identity work together to create an experience that genuinely reflects the quality of Orvas’s services.
A great website doesn’t just look good — it loads fast, ranks well, and stays out of your way. When all of that comes together, you stop worrying about your tech and start focusing on what actually grows your business. This project demonstrates that even a heavily compromised site can be turned into a performing platform with the right strategy and execution.
